With a broad portfolio of international airfreight services, the U-Freight Group notes a report by Bahrain's TradeArabia that in June air cargo tonnages showed a year-on-year improvement, with a decrease of four per cent compared to the previous year, which was better than the six per cent decline observed in May.However, April still saw a drop of ten per cent year-on-year.Average rates remained relatively stable throughout June, with a decline of approximately 38 per cent compared to the previous year, according to the report.Specifically looking at week 26 (June 26 to July 2), there was a similar four per cent decline in tonnages compared to the previous year, but there was a slight increase in average global air cargo prices on a week-on-week basis. These figures are based on WorldACD's comprehensive data covering over 400,000 weekly transactions. When comparing weeks 25 and 26 with the preceding two weeks (weeks 23 and 24), overall tonnages decreased three per cent, while capacity increased one per cent and average worldwide rates remained stable.Notable changes included a decrease in cargo from Asia Pacific to North America (down six per cent) and an increase in the opposite direction, from North America to Asia Pacific (up ten per cent).Regarding pricing, average rates remained stable on a regional level when comparing the two-week period, except for two exceptions: rates from the Middle East & South Asia to Asia Pacific experienced a decline of ten per cent, and rates from North America to Asia Pacific showed a decrease of five per cent. You can find more information about the U-Freight Group’s international airfreight logistics services by visiting the relevant pages on this website, or speaking to your usual contact in our company.
