With a comprehensive portfolio of international freight forwarding services through most of China’s main gateways, the U-Freight Group notes that according to Seatrade Maritime News, Shanghai maintained its position as the world’s busiest container port in 2023 with a 3.6% increase in volumes.

According to the publication, container volumes at Shanghai port increased 3.6% last year and exceeded 49 million teu, 1.7 million teu higher than in 2022.

The publication also reports that 51% of the total throughput of Shanghai port last year came at the port area of Yangshan, with a container volume of 25 million teu, an increase of 4.6% year-on-year.

We believe that there are currently more than 300 weekly container shipping services from Shanghai to over 700 ports worldwide.
