Air cargo market: From ‘doom mongering’ to stability
2023-12-22
News

The U-Freight Group, with our strong presence in the expedited international airfreight business, notes an interesting article on the Freightwaves website that indicates that whilst demand in the airfreight sector is still fragile, recovery is expected to strengthen in 2024.Eric Kulisch writes that the air cargo market is experiencing an unexpected bounce during the traditional peak shipping season culminating the year, fuelled by e-commerce exports from China, but revenues for air logistics companies could be lower even if strengthening demand carries over into 2024, according to industry experts.Still, the vibe in industry circles is that the worst of the freight recession is in the rear view mirror, with next year bringing welcome stability even if it takes until late summer for a full-throated recovery to take hold.Kulisch reports that some market watchers believe that there’s overall shipper confidence that the market will be more predictable and more consistent. There’s more trust going into next year and as a result they think we’ll see more semi-annual or annual contracts. That’s a really good signal that the market is starting to stabilize and shippers have confidence that supply and demand are going to be more balanced. To read the full article visit the following website; https://www.freightwaves.com/news/air-cargo-market-from-doom-mongering-to-stability?oly_enc_id=2359H2956723J0GFor more information about the U-Freight Group's global air freight forwarding and logistics services, many of which are specifically designed for e-commerce shipments, please contact your local U-Freight office.
